Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has issued 24 decisions to remove building violations in Sadat City and New Damietta. These violations include exceeding the authorized building ratios and unauthorized construction on plots of land under the jurisdiction of the respective city authorities.
Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny stressed the ongoing efforts to eliminate building violations, while preserving the architectural identity of the new cities and preventing encroachments on state-owned property. He also emphasized that there are clear directives issued to city authority officials, holding them directly accountable for implementing these regulations.
The decisions stipulated the demolition of illegal structures built on residential plots and across various districts of Sadat City. These violations include additional unauthorized floors, underground basements, enclosing internal courtyards (manawir), construction of concrete frameworks, canopies, front yard slabs, and metal awnings, all of which were constructed without licenses or legal documentation, as stated in the violation reports.
Additionally, the decisions also apply to violations in New Damietta, which involve pouring concrete for upper floors, constructing basements, and installing wooden formworks, also carried out without permits or legal basis.
The decisions clearly mandate that the Sadat City and New Damietta Development Authorities, in cooperation with the Urban Police and relevant departments, are responsible for executing the demolition operations.
