Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, accompanied by Dr. Jacqueline Azar, Deputy Governor of Beheira, conducted an inspection visit to the ongoing works of the Wadi El-Natrun – Salah El-Abd Pumping Station water line duplication project in Beheira Governorate. The tour was attended by several ministry and governorate officials, along with representatives from the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage, and Beheira Water Company.
During the visit, the minister and deputy governor reviewed the latest updates on the project. The head of Beheira Water Company explained that the project extends for 3,500 meters with a diameter of 710 mm and a total cost of EGP 60 million. He emphasized that this is one of the vital projects aimed at resolving the problem of water outages in the area.
The Minister of Housing noted that this project is part of the state’s ambitious plan to develop and modernize the drinking water and wastewater sector. He stressed the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of areas suffering from shortages in essential services such as clean water, ensuring the provision of safe and reliable drinking water for all citizens. He also underlined the importance of adhering to the project’s set timelines, directing the concerned authorities to expedite completion while maintaining high execution quality to meet citizens’ needs without delays.
For her part, Dr. Jacqueline Azar highlighted that the water and sanitation sector in Beheira Governorate is witnessing significant progress, with 14 projects currently being implemented across various areas of the governorate to provide advanced water and sanitation services. She added that these projects fall within the framework of the national sustainable development strategy, which seeks to improve citizens’ quality of life, enhance infrastructure, and achieve greater efficiency and local service standards.
