Minister of Housing Inspects the Components of the Telal Al-Fustat Gardens Project

Following his meeting with the executing companies, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection tour to monitor the final stages of the Telal Al-Fustat Gardens project in the Old Cairo district of Cairo Governorate. The project is located next to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, Ain El-Sira Lake, the Religious Complex, and the Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque. The tour was attended by the Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction and senior officials from the Ministry of Housing.

At the beginning of the tour, the Minister reviewed the finishing works of the project’s entry and exit gates, as well as the progress in the third sector of the development. He emphasized the importance of accelerating the completion of the remaining works while maintaining high standards of quality and execution.

The inspection included an overview of the project’s various components, particularly the uniquely designed Hills Zone. The project features main areas such as The Hills and The Valley. The Hills Zone consists of three hills of varying elevations connected by a water stream resembling a river.

These hills are designed in terrace-like layers that rise gradually from the river to the summit, offering scenic views of the project and its surroundings, including the Citadel of Salah El-Din and the Pyramids.

One of the main features is Qasaba Hill, which spans 13,000 square meters and includes tourist facilities such as a hotel, service buildings, parking spaces, an artificial lake, seating terraces overlooking a waterfall, a pedestrian bridge, and a café.

The Minister also followed up on the work taking place on Excavation Hill, which is designed to become an integrated archaeological and tourist site by revealing and restoring the remains of the ancient city of Fustat. The site covers an area of approximately 47 feddans and aims to connect the archaeological area with modern facilities through an elevated walkway that allows visitors to explore the site and experience the heritage area in an exceptional way.

Meanwhile, The Heritage Gardens Hill includes seating areas, terraces, and restaurants overlooking the lake, as well as diverse walking paths and green spaces designed to attract visitors and enhance the recreational experience.

El-Sherbiny also inspected progress in the Market Zone, which is expected to become a commercial and heritage hub that will contribute to supporting Egypt’s economy and promoting tourism and traditional crafts such as glass, ceramics, wax, spinning, and weaving. This area extends over 60,000 square meters and is being implemented in three phases. It will include 19 retail shops, parking spaces, an artificial lake, green areas, and a three-star hotel.
