The Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, continued his inspection tour by visiting the “Sakan Misr” project in the Exhibition Land area, in addition to the sewage lifting station for the South Investors Extension in New Cairo City. This tour comes as part of monitoring the progress of works in various projects and accelerating the pace of implementation, accompanied by officials from the ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the city authority.
During his visit to the “Sakan Misr” project in the Exhibition Land area, the minister reviewed the implementation status of the project, including the number of units delivered and those remaining according to the specified delivery schedule. El-Sherbiny also listened to the requests of several residents who had reserved their units in the project, with their main focus on accelerating the landscaping works around the project.
The minister responded to their requests and conducted an inspection tour with them in the area, directing the head of the city authority to implement all proposed demands. He emphasized the need to increase workforce deployment, complete road paving and green spaces, and ensure proper lighting in already-inhabited areas.

El-Sherbiny stressed the importance of completing service facilities as quickly as possible while addressing any existing remarks to ensure the handover of units within the specified deadlines and to guarantee a comfortable living environment for residents and beneficiaries of the housing units.
During the tour, Engineer Ahmed Rashad, Head of New Cairo City Authority, explained that the “Sakan Misr” project in the Exhibition Land area consists of 364 buildings divided into three zones: the first zone includes 196 buildings, the second has 149 buildings, and the third consists of 19 buildings equipped with elevators. He also pointed out that the project includes service facilities such as a medical center, nursery, and a basic education school, in addition to the launch of several commercial units within the project.
After concluding his tour of the Sakan Misr project, the Minister of Housing, accompanied by the delegation, visited the sewage lifting station for the South Investors Extension, where the second phase of the station with a design capacity of around 208,000 cubic meters per day was recently completed. The minister instructed that there should be regular monitoring of operation and maintenance works to ensure the station runs efficiently and the service continues at high quality.
