Minister of Housing Inspects Road and Infrastructure Projects in Egypt's Industrial Cities

On Monday, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the progress of ongoing road and infrastructure development projects in key industrial areas across cities like Tenth of Ramadan, New Suez, Obour, and Sadat. This initiative aligns with the ministry’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure in new cities to create an attractive environment for investors.

Emphasis on Fieldwork and Accountability Minister El-Sherbini emphasized the importance of on-site supervision to monitor project progress and resolve any challenges. He called for the active presence of city authority heads in the field, evaluating the performance of contractors and holding underperforming companies accountable. He stated that effective coordination between all ministry departments is crucial to provide quality services to both investors and residents while maintaining the urban standard of these new cities.

Progress in Tenth of Ramadan City Engineer Alaa Abdallah Mustafa, Head of the Tenth of Ramadan City Development Authority, conducted a field inspection in the third industrial zone to identify key challenges and improve infrastructure quality. His inspection included the renewal and enhancement of roads, water networks, sanitation systems, cleaning, and landscaping. He stressed the importance of a robust infrastructure system to support factories and workers, attract investors, and promote industrial growth in the city. To this end, he urged the implementation of strict schedules for upgrading roads and renewing water and sewage networks to the highest quality standards.

Developments in New Suez City Engineer Asmaa Makhlouf, Head of the New Suez City Authority, monitored the water supply services and pump station readiness in the first industrial zone of Ataqa. During her visit to the pump station serving the industrial area, she inspected the pump room, electrical panels, transformer buildings, and the 900 mm water transmission line. Makhlouf emphasized the importance of maintaining water quality standards, regularly cleaning storage tanks, and ensuring the proper functioning of the water transmission network.

Makhlouf, along with city officials, conducted a comprehensive tour of the first industrial zone, reviewing roads, lighting, water and sewage networks, landscaping, and green spaces. The role of the city’s security department in preventing violations and addressing offenders was also highlighted.

Updates in Sadat and Obour Cities Engineer Yasser Abdel Halim, Head of the Sadat City Development Authority, and his team inspected the progress of the transformer station in the eighth industrial zone, preparing it to be energized. As the high-voltage lines feeding the station near completion, tests and installations are underway to ensure the station meets the New Urban Communities Authority’s commitment to supplying the industrial zone with the necessary electrical power.

Similarly, Engineer Ahmed Rashad, Head of the Obour City Development Authority, and his team reviewed the preparatory and site coordination works on the main youth road at the entrance to industrial zones B and C. They inspected the construction works, curb and interlock repairs, road expansion, drainage installations, and debris removal to facilitate transportation within the industrial area.

These efforts reflect the ministry’s commitment to fostering industrial growth and enhancing the quality of services and infrastructure in Egypt’s new urban areas, ultimately aiming to provide a conducive environment for investors and the general public.
