Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, began her inspection tour of the East Cairo area with a visit to the Third Phase of the New Administrative Capital Employees Housing Project.
The visit aimed to monitor construction and handover progress, assess the quality of services provided to residents, and ensure the timely completion of housing projects while delivering an integrated living environment for citizens as part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts.
During the tour, the minister inspected the implementation and handover of housing units within the project, which includes 7,080 residential units. She reviewed the readiness of utilities and essential services, including water, sewage, electricity networks, and internal roads, emphasizing the importance of completing all remaining observations and accelerating the handover process in line with the established timetable.
Engineer Randa El Menshawy also received a detailed briefing from Engineer Ammar Mandour, Head of the New Administrative Capital Development Authority, who stated that construction has been completed on 6,120 residential units, while final finishing works are currently underway on the remaining 960 units. He added that 5,230 units have already been handed over to beneficiaries, with the remaining units scheduled for gradual delivery in the coming period.
The minister affirmed that the state places significant importance on housing projects associated with the New Administrative Capital, considering them among the country’s major national projects aimed at providing suitable and integrated housing for employees of the state’s administrative apparatus.
She stressed the need to eliminate any obstacles that could affect the pace of unit deliveries or the quality of services provided to residents. During her visit, the minister also spoke directly with several residents to assess the level of services they are receiving and to listen to their concerns and suggestions.
While speaking with one resident, he noted that the community’s most pressing need is the provision of additional transportation services connecting the area to major roads and key destinations.
In response, the minister immediately instructed the relevant authorities to coordinate urgent measures to provide appropriate transportation solutions and improve public transit services, facilitating easier mobility for residents and enhancing the overall quality of life within the project.
At the conclusion of the inspection, Engineer Randa El Menshawy stressed the importance of continuing on-site monitoring of all ongoing projects, reaffirming that citizens will remain at the center of the state’s priorities in every urban development project implemented by the Ministry of Housing.
