Minister of Housing Inspects Dahab Wastewater Treatment Plant in South Sinai

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection of the wastewater treatment plant in Dahab, South Sinai, on Thursday evening. This visit followed his tour of the “Great Transfiguration” development project at the Holy Land of Peace in Saint Catherine. The Minister was accompanied by Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, Dr. Enas Samir, Deputy Governor of South Sinai, and members of his technical team.

During the inspection, Minister El-Sherbini reviewed the current state of the wastewater treatment plant. He emphasized the need to commence the rehabilitation and upgrade works promptly to improve the service quality and preserve the plant’s assets. The Minister called for regular progress updates and stressed the importance of completing the rehabilitation efficiently.

The Minister also instructed that the plant should be upgraded to a tertiary treatment system, adhering to the highest standards. He highlighted the necessity of maximizing the use of treated water after the plant’s rehabilitation, ensuring it meets the requirements for various reuse purposes in line with both the Egyptian Code and international standards.
