As part of his inspection tour of several cities in East Cairo, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting with the heads and officials of the development authorities of New Cairo, El Shorouk, Badr, and Hadayek El Capital. The meeting addressed the follow-up on the progress of work in road and main axis development projects, the implementation of housing units, and drinking water and sewage works, with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Housing and the New Urban Communities Authority.
The meeting began by highlighting the key points discussed in the previous session held by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly with the heads of city authorities. During the discussion, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the great responsibility placed on the work teams and heads of authorities in the various cities.
The Minister explained that the field tour aims to monitor development plans, enhance overall efficiency, and maintain roads and axes, as these are no less important than other major national projects. He stressed the need to accelerate the pace of work, remain committed to development plans, complete lighting works, and ensure that all areas are restored to their proper condition after any maintenance activities, with continuous focus on cleanliness.

He also stressed the importance of finding innovative solutions to the challenges that may arise during project implementation, alongside preparing a second line of young leadership, while taking effective steps that lead to tangible results on the ground.
The Minister emphasized the need to set a clear timeline for all ongoing projects in New Cairo City and adhere to the schedules for delivering housing units. He also highlighted the importance of utilizing vacant lands in a way that maximizes investment returns.
In El Shorouk City, the meeting reviewed the status of investment and service projects, along with the progress rates of past and ongoing works. Preparations for the winter season were also discussed, as well as the financial status and challenges facing the city, including proposed solutions to overcome obstacles, enhance investment, and strengthen partnerships with the New Urban Communities Authority.
Regarding Hadayek El Capital City, the follow-up covered the implementation of more than 131,000 housing units and various service projects, in addition to reviewing the progress of electricity, infrastructure, and road projects, partnership initiatives with real estate developers, and monitoring the progress of ongoing investment projects.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny concluded the meeting by reaffirming the importance of adhering to development and regular maintenance plans for all infrastructure components, including lighting, green areas, and road networks. He also stressed the need for quick waste removal and improving the field work environment to overcome any obstacles that may hinder the workflow of current projects. Moreover, he recommended intensive cooperation with executing companies to ensure compliance with predefined schedules and continuous coordination to achieve the desired goals.
