Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, visited the Distinguished District in Badr City during her inspection tour to monitor ongoing works in the area.
The visit came in response to complaints submitted by several residents, which were identified through the ministry’s rapid response system after being shared on social media regarding the accumulation of large amounts of waste throughout the neighborhood.
During her visit to the distinguished district, the minister followed up on the ongoing work and reviewed the actions taken concerning residents’ requests.
These requests had previously been coordinated with the Badr City Development Authority to ensure the necessary measures were implemented, reflecting the Ministry’s commitment to responding promptly to citizens’ concerns and improving the quality of public services.
As part of the tour, Minister Randa El Menshawy met with one of the residents of the Distinguished District, listened to their concerns and suggestions regarding service levels in the neighborhood, and reviewed the community’s most pressing needs and requests.
She directed officials to promptly study all observations and proposals, take the necessary measures to address them, and conduct regular follow-up on implementation to improve service quality and enhance residents’ quality of life. Engineer Randa El Menshawy emphasized the Ministry’s continued commitment to regular field inspections across all neighborhoods and projects in Egypt’s new cities.
She also stressed the importance of immediate coordination with city development authorities and relevant agencies to ensure swift responses to citizens’ complaints, improve service standards, and support the state’s vision of developing integrated and sustainable urban communities.
Engineer El Sayed Amin, Head of the Badr City Development Authority, explained that the authority had already responded to residents’ concerns by intensifying cleaning operations throughout the Distinguished District.
He noted that garbage containers are now emptied regularly, waste is removed from around and beneath collection points, and extensive cleanup campaigns have cleared large quantities of debris. In addition, internal roads have been opened and leveled, while legal action has been taken against violators responsible for improper waste disposal.
