Minister of Housing Follows Up on Utilities and Electricity Projects in New Fayoum City

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the latest progress on implementing electricity and utilities networks for phases one and two of the medium industries zone, along with the electricity network for the first phase of the small industries zone within the second industrial area of New Fayoum City.

The minister emphasized that these projects fall within the framework of supporting the industrial sector and strengthening its role as a key driver of comprehensive economic transformation. The initiatives aim to localize domestic industry by providing ready-to-use land for industrial investment and facilitating the establishment of new industrial projects.

Officials from the New Fayoum City Authority explained that the project includes the construction of four electricity distributors, each with 17 cells, in addition to an expansion distributor containing 31 cells inside the investment area in the eastern extension of the city. The total cost of the project amounts to around EGP 1 billion.

They further noted that basic utilities, including water and wastewater services, are currently being completed for the second industrial zone, which hosts small and medium industries. At the same time, contracts for implementing asphalt works in the eastern extension part of the city are being tendered and awarded.

During an inspection tour, officials stressed the ongoing efforts to provide the necessary resources to accelerate the completion of these projects with the highest quality and in the shortest possible time to serve citizens and manufacturers. They highlighted the commitment to round-the-clock work while adhering strictly to technical standards to ensure efficiency and precision.

In parallel with these activities, the state announced the offering of 115 industrial land plots in New Fayoum City, with areas ranging between 650 and 1,500 square meters, as part of efforts to boost industrial investment. These plots were designed to meet the needs of diverse projects, including food, pharmaceutical, chemical, engineering, medical supplies, and building materials industries. This direction reflects the state’s commitment to providing flexible investment opportunities that suit various scales of small and medium industrial projects.

These efforts represent a translation of the state’s policy to strengthen the capacities of serious investors by providing advanced infrastructure and supporting local manufacturing. The initiatives seek to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products in both domestic and international markets, thereby contributing to sustainable industrial development goals and achieving significant leaps in the national economy.
