Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities, followed up on the implementation status of a number of housing, service, and development projects in Port Said Governorate and the cities of 15 May and Obour in order to review progress rates and ongoing works and overcome any challenges that may face their implementation.
In light of the follow-up results, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy directed the continuation of intensive field monitoring of the various projects, accelerating implementation rates, and expediting the completion of the remaining works.
She stressed the importance of continued coordination between city authorities, implementing entities, and consultants, as well as the prompt handling of any obstacles that may affect the progress of work, ensuring the timely completion and delivery of housing and service projects in accordance with the targeted standards.
In this context, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy received a report that included the results of a tour conducted by Eng. Wael Moussa, advisor to the minister of housing for monitoring housing projects, and Eng. Amr Abdel Hady, first undersecretary of the ministry and head of the construction and contracting sector, to follow up on middle-income and investment housing projects in the Port Said Governorate.
The tour included an inspection of two projects involving the construction of 66 residential buildings and 53 residential buildings for middle-income and investment housing, during which the latest implementation developments and progress rates of both projects were reviewed, in the presence of officials from the Port Said Housing and Utilities Directorate, the consultant, and representatives of the implementing companies.
The minister of housing also followed up on the results of a field tour conducted by Eng. Ammar Mandour, vice president of the New Urban Communities Authority for Development and Construction, in 15 May City to inspect a number of housing projects.
A meeting was held with representatives of the implementing companies to review the implementation status and progress rates, discuss challenges and ways to overcome them, and ensure the acceleration of implementation and completion of works according to the specified timelines.
Through the report, the minister of housing reviewed the status of housing projects in the Zahraa area of 15 May City, which includes 203 residential buildings comprising a total of 4,872 housing units, as well as housing projects in the Narges area, covering 100 feddans, under the low-income housing component of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians.”
The projects include 465 residential buildings comprising a total of 11,160 housing units. Finishing works, utility works, and site landscaping are currently underway, with emphasis on continuing work at the required pace to accelerate progress rates. In Obour City, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy followed up on the results of a tour conducted by ministry officials in the presence of Eng.
Tamer Gabr, head of the Obour City Development Authority, and authority officials inspected the Obour Hospital project, which is supervised by the Obour City Development Authority, in addition to the “Zelal” project, and reviewed the latest implementation developments and progress rates of both projects.
The report indicated that the completion rate of the Obour Hospital project has reached approximately 99%, with the final works and necessary preparations currently being monitored in preparation for completing the handover procedures to the Ministry of Health and Population, ahead of the hospital’s opening and operation at full capacity. The hospital will have a capacity of up to 189 beds and will include an integrated system of medical departments, specialties, and healthcare services.
The tour also included follow-up on the “Zelal” project in the Entertainment District, where the implementation status, progress rates, finishing works, site landscaping, and the implementation of utilities and services were reviewed. The project is being developed on an area of approximately 10 feddans and includes 11 residential buildings comprising a total of 286 units, with unit areas ranging from 114 to 227 square meters.
