Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, received Wu Wiguo, Vice President of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), and the accompanying delegation to discuss the status of the projects being implemented by the company in the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein City, as well as enhancing its participation in the implementation of a number of major projects in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by several ministry officials. At the beginning of the meeting, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy emphasized that Egyptian-Chinese relations represent a distinguished model of strategic partnership built on solid foundations of cooperation and mutual trust.
She noted that the continued development of relations between the two countries, particularly in the economic, development, and urban sectors, reflects the shared commitment of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, to advancing the level of cooperation and maximizing the benefits of the capabilities and expertise possessed by both sides in a manner that supports Egypt’s sustainable development goals.
She pointed out that the construction and urban development sector represents one of the key pillars of this partnership, given the extensive experience and capabilities of Chinese companies in implementing major national projects, as well as the promising investment and development opportunities available in Egypt.
She affirmed the Ministry of Housing’s commitment to continuing and expanding areas of cooperation with the Chinese company in a manner that contributes to implementing more major projects and supporting Egypt’s urban development journey.
The Minister of Housing expressed her appreciation for the efforts of China’s CSCEC in implementing major projects in Egypt, noting that the company has demonstrated clear success in the Egyptian market through its participation in the implementation of several important projects, most notably the Central Business District in the New Administrative Capital and the Downtown Towers project in New Alamein City.
Eng. Randa El-Menshawy praised the implementation rates of the Downtown Towers project in New Alamein City, confirming that the project is progressing according to the established schedule.
She stressed the importance of continued coordination between the ministry and the company to finalize the remaining observations related to the Central Business District project in the New Administrative Capital while adhering to the highest standards of quality and efficiency in implementation.
The Minister of Housing also expressed her deep appreciation to the People’s Republic of China and China’s CSCEC, praising the company’s outstanding performance in the projects it is implementing in Egypt. She thanked all company employees for their distinguished level of cooperation and coordination with the Ministry, affirming that this cooperation represents an honorable model of the Egyptian-Chinese partnership.
She stressed the Ministry’s commitment to continuing joint work during the coming period, whether to complete existing projects or explore new opportunities and areas of cooperation, in a manner that strengthens the presence of Chinese companies in implementing urban development and infrastructure projects in new cities.
For his part, Wu Wiguo expressed his pleasure at the meeting, thanking the Ministry for the support and assistance it provides to the Chinese company. He affirmed that Egyptian-Chinese relations are witnessing continuous development and that cooperation between the two countries has reached advanced levels under the strategic relations that bring them together.
The Vice President of CSCEC affirmed the company’s commitment to continuing and strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Housing in a manner that achieves the mutual interests of both sides and contributes to implementing more major projects in Egypt.
He added that, through its implementation of the Central Business District project in the New Administrative Capital and the Downtown Towers project in New Alamein City, the company has gained an advanced understanding of the nature of urban development in Egypt and has closely examined the significant capabilities of the Egyptian state and the promising opportunities it offers across various development sectors.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening long-term cooperation and expanding participation in the implementation of new projects in new cities and infrastructure projects.
