Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, received Major General Akram Galal, Governor of Ismailia, at his office in the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss avenues of joint cooperation and review important work files. The meeting was attended by several officials from the Ministry of Housing and its affiliated entities, along with representatives from Ismailia Governorate.
Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny stressed the importance of ongoing coordination between the Ministry and the Governorate in addressing issues related to drinking water, wastewater, and housing projects in Ismailia. He emphasized his full readiness to provide the necessary support to meet the needs of the governorate’s residents, in line with the political leadership’s vision to improve living standards, enhance services, and provide a modern environment that fulfills citizens’ aspirations.

For his part, Major General Akram Galal expressed his deep appreciation for the Ministry of Housing’s swift response to the challenges facing the governorate. He also praised the fruitful cooperation that has already produced tangible results on the ground, reinforcing efforts to improve services provided to residents across Ismailia’s cities and villages.
The meeting addressed several vital issues, including drinking water projects, where proposals were discussed for establishing two water plants in the areas of El-Qassasin and Ein Ghossain. Updates were also presented on ongoing wastewater projects in regions such as Abu Atwa, Bahr Serabium, Qantara Sharq, and Fayed, along with discussions on possible solutions to ensure existing plants operate at full capacity. Regarding housing, the discussions focused on obstacles hindering certain vital projects that directly impact citizens’ lives.
In this context, the Minister of Housing directed officials to urgently develop solutions to complete unfinished housing projects and launch them to the market soon, in addition to optimizing the use of unused lands to further drive development in the governorate.
The meeting concluded with the Minister emphasizing the need for continued coordination among all concerned parties to efficiently implement projects in Ismailia. He also highlighted the importance of identifying future needs and launching new projects to meet them, ensuring sustainable development and better services for the governorate’s residents.
