Minister of Housing Directs Immediate Operation of Completed Wastewater Treatment Plants in New Valley

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, received Major General Mohamed El-Zamlout, Governor of the New Valley, to discuss cooperation in the fields of drinking water and wastewater services. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry and relevant authorities. El-Sherbiny affirmed his readiness to support the governorate in housing projects. The meeting reviewed the implementation status of drinking water and sewage treatment plants and the timeline for completing ongoing work.

Minister of Housing Directs Immediate Operation of Completed Wastewater Treatment Plants in New Valley

The Minister of Housing directed that efforts be accelerated to complete current projects in the New Valley Governorate, including the expansion of the wastewater treatment plant in Kharga City. The first phase, with a capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per day, has been completed. The second phase, with a planned capacity of 15,000 cubic meters per day, has been studied. It was also emphasized that all completed plants must be put into operation immediately to serve local residents and overcome any challenges hindering their activation.
