Minister of Housing Concludes Eighth Public Land Allocation Draw in New Obour City

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced the completion of the eighth public land allocation draw, held on September 5, 2024, in New Obour City. This draw allocated residential plots to clients who have made the required down payments, finalizing the allocation process as part of the state’s efforts to meet citizens’ needs for housing land and to provide adequate housing in line with Egypt’s sustainable development goals.

The draw was attended by a large group of citizens who had previously arranged their legal documents and payments for the plots. Clients left with allocation notices, beginning their journey to construct homes in an environment designed with essential infrastructure and urban planning standards.

Dr. Engineer Ahmed Ismail, Head of the New Obour City Development Authority, explained that the available land sizes ranged from 209 to 500 square meters, meeting diverse requirements. He emphasized the importance of the draw in providing residential land and highlighted the Authority’s efforts to ensure a seamless and precise allocation process. The Authority’s team undertook comprehensive data reviews to verify eligibility and ensure fair distribution.

In his comments, Dr. Ismail noted the Authority’s commitment to essential infrastructure projects, including water, sanitation, electricity, and road services. He reassured attendees of the Authority’s dedication to delivering these services to meet citizens’ needs and enable smooth land development.

Many clients praised the transparency and fairness of the process, expressing satisfaction and confidence in the Authority’s efforts. Following the allocation, Dr. Ismail addressed citizens’ questions, assuring them of ongoing support and rapid infrastructure project implementation to support their plans.

Senior officials from the Ministry and the Authority were present, including Ehab El-Marakebi, Assistant Vice President for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs; Counselor Moamen Mahmoud, representing the State Council; Dr. Ahmed Reda Amara, Director of Contracts and Dispute Resolution; and Aza Ramadan, Head of Central Real Estate and Commercial Affairs. The officials reiterated their commitment to facilitating citizen land ownership and advancing Egypt’s developmental vision for organized, sustainable communities.

This event marks the beginning of ongoing initiatives to provide organized land ownership opportunities for citizens, supporting the country’s vision for integrated, sustainable urban communities.
