Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and New Urban Communities, has approved a number of new standards related to the planning and design of cemeteries.
This step aims to adhere to standards of planning and architectural design for both new cemeteries and the development of existing ones, to ensure improved implementation quality and the surrounding environment.

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, the National Center for Housing and Building Research will be responsible for publishing these standards and raising awareness among the various concerned authorities. Additionally, the center will provide the necessary training to ensure their effective application.
Regarding the enforcement of these standards, Article Three of the decision stipulated that it be published in the Official Gazette and will be effective six months after its publication date.
The decision also indicated the necessity for the relevant authorities to implement these standards, each according to its jurisdiction, to ensure full compliance and achieve the desired goals of this developmental step.
