Engineer Sherif El-Shorbany, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Major General Tarek El-Shazly, Governor of Suez, held a meeting this evening at the Ministry of Housing’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to follow up on several work files and joint projects in the governorate. Officials from the Ministry of Housing, the governorate, and the head of the New Suez City Development Authority attended the meeting.
At the start of the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Shorbany welcomed Major General Tarek El-Shazly and his delegation, emphasizing that the Suez Governorate includes the ongoing New Suez City project. This project is being developed to become an urban landmark that rivals New Alamein City and other similar cities.
During the meeting, the Minister of Housing and the Governor of Suez reviewed several work files and projects, including the social housing project and some of the water supply and sewage projects in the governorate. Among these was the drinking water pipeline from the desalination plant, which has 70,000 cubic meters per day, the sewage lifting station in the 40th district, and several sewage lifting stations in the rural sectors of the governorate.
In this context, the Minister of Housing instructed the study of urgent solutions for the current challenges facing the water supply and sewage system, particularly during peak times, and the provision of various forms of support to overcome any obstacles.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Housing and the Governor of Suez emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the two sides to complete the joint projects and achieve the development vision of the Egyptian state, which would benefit the people of the Suez Governorate.
