On Saturday, Engineer Sherif El-Shorbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, along with Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, conducted a site visit to assess the ongoing development of the “Sour Magra El-Ayoun Area” in Cairo. This project is part of the broader efforts to revitalize Historic Cairo and enhance one of the city’s key areas. The visit was also attended by officials from the Ministry of Housing, the Cairo Governorate, and the New Urban Communities Authority.

Minister El-Shorbiny confirmed that the first phase of the “Sour Magra El-Ayoun” development is nearing completion. This phase includes the construction of 79 residential buildings, providing a total of 1,924 housing units. Additionally, the phase features the development of a hotel that will be operated and managed by one of the world’s leading international companies. A commercial, administrative, and entertainment mall is also under development, which will include restaurants, cinemas, and an open-air theater.
Preparing for Phase Two
The minister revealed that designs for the second phase of the “Sour Magra El-Ayoun” project are currently being prepared. The development of this area is one of the key ongoing projects in Cairo, aimed at revitalizing the city’s urban fabric in line with the directives of the political leadership to restore Cairo’s historic, cultural, and touristic significance.
