Minister of Housing and Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization Follow Up on the Progress of “Decent Life” Projects

Engineer Sherif El Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held an extensive meeting with Major General Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

The meeting aimed to review the progress of projects under the presidential initiative “Decent Life” (Hayah Kareema), which focuses on developing Egypt’s rural villages. The session was attended by ministry officials, senior representatives of the organization, and several heads and representatives of factories and companies responsible for implementing these projects.

During the meeting, the Minister of Housing emphasized the importance of uniting efforts and mobilizing all available resources to ensure the completion of the “Decent Life” projects within the scheduled timelines, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

He called on all implementing companies to intensify their efforts and adhere to submitting weekly progress reports to track the execution stages. He also stressed the need for regular field visits to project sites and continuous coordination between the ministry and the organization to achieve tangible progress on the ground and ensure full compliance with approved schedules.

Engineer Sherif El Sherbiny noted that this meeting reflects the ministry’s commitment to ongoing supervision of the implementation process and to strengthening efforts toward completing projects according to pre-established plans.

For his part, Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif praised the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Housing and the Arab Organization for Industrialization, confirming the existence of several joint projects that must achieve their intended goals within the framework of the presidential initiative “Decent Life.”

The meeting also reviewed the implementation status of projects being carried out by the Ministry of Housing in collaboration with the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater and the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage.

The discussions included a comprehensive presentation of completed sanitation projects in about 39 villages, along with treatment plants and pumping stations serving approximately 17 villages.

In addition, progress updates were presented regarding the construction of two water purification plants in Aswan Governorate, being implemented by the Holding Company as part of the first phase of the “Decent Life” initiative.
