During his inspection tour of North 90th Axis, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, visited Wastewater Station No. (12) in the Al-Andalus area of the Third Settlement in New Cairo. He was accompanied by officials from the ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the head of the city authority.
The minister toured the station to review its components, listening to a detailed briefing on the construction works, which include the wet well, pump houses, generator building, and administrative facilities. The site landscaping and façades were also designed to harmonize with the architectural character of the area. Additionally, the tour included a review of the central warehouse project adjacent to the station, which has been equipped with a modern electronic system for managing, storing, and monitoring spare parts related to infrastructure.
For his part, Engineer Abdel Raouf El-Ghaity, Head of New Cairo City Authority, stated that the station is a strategic project designed to serve the entire Al-Andalus district and its extensions. He added that the central warehouses aim to provide unified management for all spare parts of water and wastewater networks and stations across the city through a fully integrated electronic program that relies on a barcode system. This system ensures accurate inventory, easy tracking of parts and their validity, and quick replacement of shortages.
El-Ghaity also confirmed that the project will enhance the efficiency of asset and spare part management, ensure uninterrupted operation of the networks and stations, and improve response times for maintenance and repair works. It will further contribute to transparency and precision within the city’s warehouse management system.
