Minister of Housing Advocates for Smart Solutions in Project Management and Maintenance

On Tuesday, Engineer Sherif Shorbini, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, called for an expansion in the use of smart solutions tailored to the actual needs of managing, operating, and maintaining various projects. This move aims to enhance the quality of services provided to citizens, ensure effective governance, streamline operations and maintenance processes, and reduce costs. The Minister emphasized the importance of starting with the implementation of smart solutions in select projects as a preliminary step toward broader adoption.

The Minister’s directives were discussed during a meeting with Dr. Mohamed Mandour, Chairman of Arab Contractors for Facility Management (a subsidiary of Arab Contractors), and the company’s officials. The meeting focused on exploring advanced solutions for managing, operating, and maintaining water supply and sewage systems.

Minister Shorbini highlighted the need to maximize the role of Arab Contractors for Facility Management, recognizing it as a key arm of the ministry. He stressed the importance of elevating the standards of national companies operating in the fields of operation and maintenance to achieve optimal performance in managing water and sewage facilities, residential projects, and other developmental initiatives. This also includes preserving assets and extending their lifespan.

During the meeting, representatives from Arab Contractors for Facility Management presented a range of advanced solutions based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology for managing and monitoring wastewater treatment plants. These locally designed and manufactured solutions aim to improve operational efficiency through advanced technologies that allow continuous monitoring and immediate control of various equipment and systems within water and sewage treatment facilities.

The representatives noted that the smart solutions provided by Arab Contractors for wastewater treatment plants represent a significant advancement in operational efficiency. These solutions reduce resource consumption, save foreign currency, and support local industry. By integrating these solutions with IoT systems and asset management programs, the company enables facilities to benefit from advanced technologies that enhance environmental sustainability, lower operational costs, and ensure high-quality performance with entirely Egyptian-made manufacturing.
