Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Support Fund, announced the required documents and application mechanism for obtaining alternative housing units for tenants under the old rent system. The units will be available either for ownership or for rent, depending on the applicant’s preference and circumstances.
During her interview with media host Amr Adib on the program Al-Hekaya, she stated that the required documents include proof of the rental relationship through the lease contract and utility receipts, along with documents verifying monthly income. She added that the accuracy of data will be ensured through the electronic linkage system with government authorities.
She clarified that the units are divided into ownership and rental options, with rental priority given to the elderly based on income level and social status. She also pointed out that units of various sizes, reaching up to 120 square meters, will be available to meet different needs. Abdel Hamid emphasized the state’s commitment to providing alternative housing within the specified timeframe and delivering units on the announced dates.
