Eng. Abdel-Raouf El-Ghitty, Assistant Deputy Head of the Authority for the Utilities Sector and Network and Station Maintenance, and Eng. Khaled Sorour, Assistant Deputy Head of the New Urban Communities Authority for the Development and Construction Sector, conducted an inspection tour accompanied by Eng. Mohamed Mostafa, Head of 6th of October City Authority, and Eng. Radi Khalil, Deputy Head of the Authority, to review the progress of ongoing works in the city, particularly those related to roads and traffic axes.
The visit began with a presentation by Eng. Abdel-Raouf El-Ghitty, which included the city’s road and traffic axis development plan. The tour focused on works such as the expansion of the road on the central island beneath the monorail at the 26th of July Axis, as well as ongoing works under the monorail along the parallel central axis.
The development plan includes improving the current asphalt quality and enhancing traffic safety by upgrading guidance and warning lines. It also involved placing clear road markings aimed at achieving high safety levels for road users.
On the sidelines of the visit, a field meeting was held with several officials from the National Authority for Tunnels and the company executing the monorail project. The meeting emphasized the need to expedite the opening of station zones along the central service axis and to restore traffic flow on the road to its normal state, facilitating smooth mobility for city residents.
At the conclusion of the tour, Eng. Abdel-Raouf El-Ghitty stressed the importance of adhering to the specified project timeline, noting that monitoring project execution according to the planned schedules enhances the achievement of the desired goals on time, reflecting the efforts made to provide the best services to citizens.
