Launch of 14,000 Green Housing Units in October City

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced the commencement of 14,000 “Green Housing” units under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” in October City.

Promoting Green Architecture

The initiative integrates environmentally friendly construction materials and climate-appropriate architectural solutions to reduce carbon emissions. Key features include:

  • Use of renewable energy sources.
  • Greywater recycling for irrigating green spaces.
  • Energy-efficient designs to minimize water and electricity consumption.

Goals of “Housing for All Egyptians”

Minister El-Sherbiny highlighted the initiative’s mission to provide housing tailored to various income levels through a three-pronged approach:

  1. Offering luxury housing for high-income groups at market prices.
  2. Supporting middle-income families with affordable housing options.
  3. Providing social housing with subsidies for low-income groups.

Integrated Service Facilities

Engineer Mohamed Abdel-Maqsoud, Head of the New October City Development Authority, emphasized the inclusion of comprehensive service facilities in the projects. These include:

  • Schools, nurseries, and healthcare units.
  • Commercial markets and sports fields.

Commitment to Timely Delivery

The authority is focused on meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards to achieve the city’s developmental goals.

Project Oversight

Engineer Mahmoud Murad, Deputy Head of the New October City Authority, convened with project contractors and supervisory teams to monitor progress and address challenges. Field inspections were conducted to ensure compliance with specifications and expedite progress.

The initiative reflects a commitment to sustainable urban development while enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
