Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Major General Mohamed El Zamlout, Governor of Matrouh, inspected the Alamein El Roum Development Project, which is being implemented by Qatari Diar.
The tour was attended by Eng. Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister of Housing for Utilities, several ministry officials, and Eng. Walid Abdel Rahman, Head of the Ras El Hekma Development Authority and Supervisor of the North Coast Sectors.
During the visit, Engineer Randa El Menshawy reviewed the progress of the ongoing works, noting that the project reflects the success of the public-private partnership model in delivering integrated urban and investment developments that support the state’s efforts to attract investments and maximize the value of national assets.
She added that the project represents one of the country’s promising tourism and development ventures and is expected to support sustainable development efforts in Matrouh Governorate while strengthening its position as a global tourism and investment destination.
The project is being developed over an area of approximately 4,900 feddans, with a 7.2-kilometer beachfront, and involves $3.5 billion in direct cash investments, as part of total expected investments reaching $29.7 billion. The current scope of work includes the implementation of several key components designed to highlight the project’s architectural identity and provide an integrated experience for visitors.
The project includes the construction of a distinctive main entrance that reflects the project’s identity, featuring landscaping works, directional signage, lighting, surveillance cameras, electronic security barriers, and a fully equipped security building furnished with the necessary furniture and equipment.
It also includes road and infrastructure works, featuring the construction of a 3.5-kilometer dual carriageway with two lanes in each direction, a landscaped central median incorporating lighting and directional signage, stormwater drainage networks, road paving, lighting poles, surveillance and low-current systems, concrete barriers, irrigation and electrical networks, as well as a temporary road to support construction activities.
The project also includes the construction of a temporary experience center, designed to remain usable over the long term. The facility will include the main sales center, a dedicated VIP area, and a parking lot with a capacity of approximately 100 vehicles. The building consists of a single floor.
In addition, the project includes the development of a 1,000-square-meter beachfront area, featuring a range of recreational and aesthetic elements, including reflective water features, wooden walkways and decks, and a beverage area, all in line with the project’s master plan.
