Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the progress of housing and service projects being implemented under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” in the cities of New Beni Suef, New Minya, New Sohag, and Sadat City. The review comes as part of ongoing efforts to accelerate implementation rates while ensuring adherence to approved timelines and quality standards.
Eng. Randa El-Menshawy stressed that the Ministry places housing projects—foremost among them the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians”—at the top of its priorities, given their vital role in improving citizens’ quality of life and providing suitable housing units for various segments of society.
She affirmed that field follow-up will continue to be intensified to accelerate implementation rates, ensure compliance with established project schedules, and promptly resolve any obstacles that may affect progress.
This will help guarantee the delivery of housing units according to standard specifications and within the scheduled timeframes, in line with the directives of the political leadership to provide suitable housing for all categories of citizens.
Results of Inspection Tours
The Minister of Housing received a report outlining the findings of inspection tours conducted by officials from the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and city development authorities at project sites. Eng. Ammar Mandour, Vice President of NUCA for Development and Construction, inspected housing and development projects in New Beni Suef City.
The tour was attended by Eng. Ahmed Abdel Gaber Abdallah, Head of the New Beni Suef City Development Authority. During the visit, officials reviewed the implementation status and completion rates of ongoing projects, while discussing ways to overcome challenges and accelerate work progress to enhance the quality of services provided to city residents.
Eng. Ammar Mandour also inspected the fully finished residential units under the “Housing for All Egyptians” project designated for the middle-income housing axis, which includes six residential buildings currently being handed over to eligible beneficiaries.
He also followed up on the low-income housing axis project, which comprises 84 residential buildings with a total of 2,016 housing units. In addition, he inspected the tourist promenade area in the northeastern part of the city to review the latest developments in the project’s implementation.
The report also highlighted the follow-up of the Green Housing project in Sadat City, where officials reviewed the actual implementation progress on-site. The inspection included evaluating the execution status of ongoing works and completion rates to ensure compliance with project timelines and the highest implementation quality standards.
The report further referred to an inspection tour conducted by Eng. Mohamed El-Ezouni, Head of the New Minya City Development Authority, accompanied by city officials, to monitor the implementation of 71 residential buildings under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians”, in addition to the Green Housing projects, which include the ongoing works in Phases Five, Six, and Seven.
The tour included monitoring interior finishing works, external building façades, utility network connections, excavation works in Phase Seven, and landscaping works in Phase Six. The inspection aimed to ensure satisfactory implementation rates and construction quality, while directing contractors to expedite connections to water supply and wastewater networks.
The report also included an inspection tour by Eng. Ayman Rashad, Head of the New Sohag City Development Authority, to follow up on the implementation of Phase Seven of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians.”
He inspected construction sites in the “Mostaqbal” and “735 Feddans” areas within Neighborhood No. (36), where he reviewed excavation and soil replacement works, the casting of plain and reinforced concrete foundations, and the preparation of structural columns in a number of residential buildings.
Phase Seven of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” is one of the largest housing projects currently under implementation in New Sohag City. The project includes 4,056 fully finished housing units, each with an area of 90 square meters, distributed across 169 residential buildings, and is being executed by eight specialized contracting companies.
