Khaled El Balshy, the President of the Journalists’ Syndicate, welcomed Mai Abdel Hamid, the CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, in an open dialogue session organized by the syndicate today.
During his opening remarks, El Balshy emphasized the crucial role journalists play in educating the public with accurate information provided by the fund. He highlighted that journalists, being a part of society, represent the needs and concerns of the people. He expressed hope that the session would serve as a message to inform and raise awareness about the upcoming housing offerings, which he hoped would be accessible to all eligible citizens, including journalists.
El Balshy also mentioned ongoing negotiations between the syndicate and the Social Housing Fund to secure various forms of relief for journalists in future housing offerings. These discussions include potential ease in payment terms, eligibility requirements, and other facilitations.
Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, announced during the session that the income thresholds for the upcoming housing announcement have been raised. For low-income individuals, the minimum income limit is now set at EGP 12,000 for singles and EGP 15,000 for families. For middle-income earners, the limits are set at EGP 20,000 for singles and EGP 25,000 for families.
This dialogue reflected the collaborative efforts between the syndicate and the fund, aimed at ensuring that housing opportunities are available to a wider segment of the population, including members of the media.
