The New Damietta City Development Authority launched a major campaign to address violations, prevent unauthorized changes in activities, and crack down on operations without licenses.
The campaign was led by Eng. Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud, Head of the Authority, in cooperation with the relevant departments, the Development Police Department, and the Damietta Health Directorate.
The campaign resulted in the implementation of administrative closure and sealing decisions for 15 basements in the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Districts after they were used for commercial and storage activities in violation of their licenses and approved regulations.
The campaign also included the closure and sealing of several residential units in the Central Area after their activities were converted to commercial and administrative uses in violation of regulations.
In addition, a number of medical clinics were closed and sealed after they were found to be operating without the required legal licenses and health requirements, in coordination with the Health Directorate.
Eng. Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud affirmed that inspection campaigns will continue on a regular and intensive basis, stressing that no violations or unauthorized changes in approved activities will be permitted.
He also emphasized daily monitoring to ensure that violating facilities do not reopen and to preserve the urban and civilized character of New Damietta City.
