The 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority, headed by Engineer Alaa Abdel Aal Mostafa, has continued its intensive efforts to combat drinking water theft and encroachments on utility networks. These actions are part of the state’s broader plan to protect infrastructure and ensure the continued delivery of services to citizens with high efficiency and quality standards.
Removal of 33 Illegal Water Connections
The head of the authority stated that campaigns conducted by the authority’s “illegal connections committee” throughout the current month resulted in the discovery and removal of 33 illegal water connections across several residential and industrial areas in 10th of Ramadan City.
He explained that many of these unauthorized connections were established through illegal methods, constituting a direct violation of drinking water networks and negatively affecting service regularity within the city.
He added that the campaigns specifically targeted illegal connections that lead to significant water wastage, in addition to disrupting network pressure and operational efficiency, which in turn impacts the level of services provided to both citizens and investors across various areas.
Seizure of Tractor Used in Water Theft Operations
The campaigns also succeeded in confiscating a tractor that was being used in the illegal extraction and transport of drinking water. The vehicle was impounded at the authority’s headquarters, pending legal procedures against the violators, as part of firm enforcement measures against encroachments on public utilities.
These efforts are being implemented in line with the directives of Engineer Randa El-Menshawy and under the direct supervision of Engineer Alaa Abdel Aal Mostafa, emphasizing the importance of firmly addressing all forms of encroachment on utility networks and maintaining the efficiency of drinking water services in 10th of Ramadan City.
Engineer Alaa Abdel Aal Mostafa reaffirmed that water theft and violations of network infrastructure are serious offenses that harm citizens’ rights and weaken state infrastructure.
He stressed that periodic inspection campaigns will continue, with strict legal action taken against offenders, which may include fines and imprisonment, in addition to obligating violators to pay for the stolen consumption and any resulting damages.
He further noted that these campaigns are ongoing across all districts of the city, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward any violations affecting public utilities or the efficiency of essential services provided to citizens.
