Amr Khattab, spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, stated that the authorities of new cities impose administrative fees when transferring ownership of lands or real estate units. He explained that these administrative fees have been included in the terms and conditions booklet since the beginning of the allocation process, which had posed a burden on individuals wishing to transfer ownership of such units.
Khattab clarified that the administrative fee rates range between 2% and 5% of the value of the unit or land, noting that the New Urban Communities Authority has decided to significantly reduce these rates.

He added that allottees who have already received allocations have up to six months to submit their requests to the relevant city authorities in order to complete the procedures for relinquishing residential, professional, or administrative units, as well as commercial stores.
He pointed out that the purpose of this measure is not to collect money but rather to regulate the process and unify the vision between owners and city authorities, which contributes to better property management and clearer, well-defined legal relationships.
