The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities is gearing up, in the coming period, to launch a new phase of the Social Housing Project 2026. This step aligns with the state’s continued efforts to provide subsidized residential units suitable for low- and middle-income citizens across various new cities and governorates, while offering flexible payment systems and competitive pricing.
This new offering is part of a broader strategy aimed at expanding the number of beneficiaries of housing programs through flexible mortgage financing systems with long repayment periods, alongside a low reservation down payment that increases opportunities for homeownership.
Details of the New Social Housing Units Offering 2026
The Ministry of Housing stated that the upcoming launch includes approximately 31,680 housing units in new cities, in addition to 4,336 units across different governorates, ensuring access for a wide segment of citizens.
The offer also features units within green housing projects designed according to sustainability and energy-efficiency standards, alongside traditional social housing units.
Unit prices range from EGP 200,000 to EGP 350,000 depending on location, unit size, and available services, while some units may reach around EGP 850,000, with government support of up to EGP 180,000.
Reservation Down Payment and Installment System
- The reservation down payment starts at EGP 25,000 and may go up to EGP 50,000.
- Monthly installments range between EGP 750 and EGP 1,300.
- The repayment period extends for up to 20 years under the mortgage financing system.
Conditions for Applying for Social Housing Units 2026
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be an Egyptian citizen.
- Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
- Must reside or work in the same governorate where the unit is offered.
- Must comply with the income limits specified in the official terms and conditions booklet.
- Must not have previously obtained a subsidized housing unit or land plot from the state under earlier housing initiatives.
