The Supervisor of the Real Estate and Commercial Affairs Sector at the New Urban Communities Authority, Engineer Abdel Raouf El-Ghitany, chaired a meeting to follow up on the latest developments regarding the regularization of land plots added to New Obour City and New Shorouk City.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Emara, Assistant Vice President of the Authority for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs; Engineer Mahmoud Murad, Head of New Obour City Authority; and Engineer Mohamed Zakaria, Head of New Shorouk City Authority, in addition to officials from the Authority’s Real Estate and Commercial Affairs Sector and representatives of both city authorities.
During the meeting, participants stressed the necessity of setting clear and well-defined timelines to monitor implementation progress while strengthening coordination among the relevant departments and sectors. This approach aims to speed up procedures and ensure the continuous achievement of the state’s goals in regulating the urban environment and optimizing the use of real estate assets, in line with sustainable development strategies.
Engineer Mahmoud Murad presented a comprehensive briefing outlining the completion rates achieved in reviewing regularization applications in New Obour City, along with the proposed timetable for finalizing the review and processing of remaining files. The presentation also covered the implementation status of utility and infrastructure projects being executed within the newly added areas.
It further identified key challenges facing work teams and proposed a set of procedural and organizational solutions aimed at accelerating completion rates while taking into account the social dimension and safeguarding the rights of small landowners. This is intended to maximize the efficient use of real estate assets and support stability in both urban and investment environments.
In the same context, Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Zakaria delivered a detailed report on the status of regularization files in New Shorouk City, specifically in the areas of El-Rabwa, El-Salam, Taiba, and the city’s northern expansion. The report reviewed current performance indicators as well as on-ground challenges related to completing procedures.
The meeting also included extensive discussions on simplifying procedures, reducing transaction processing time, and further developing the system for managing real estate files while enhancing technical and administrative efficiency. This is aimed at ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and speed while maintaining full compliance with the approved legal frameworks.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued periodic follow-ups and ongoing coordination between city authorities and the central sectors of the New Urban Communities Authority, alongside intensified efforts to finalize the regularization of the added lands in accordance with approved regulations. This supports the public interest and reinforces sustainable urban development efforts in new cities.
