Eng. Ahmed Ali, Assistant Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for Utilities and Network Maintenance, and Eng. Mostafa Kamel, Deputy Assistant Vice President for Utilities, conducted an inspection tour of vital utility, water, and sewage projects in 15th of May City. They were accompanied by Eng. Ali Saad, Head of the City Authority, and other officials, following directives from Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, for regular monitoring of development projects in new cities.
The tour began with a visit to the American Project Water Pumping Station, which supplies water to the city’s first and third phases. Officials assessed the station’s operation and maintenance processes, ensuring optimal performance and uninterrupted service delivery.
The delegation also inspected the first phase of the wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 17,000 m³/day, currently operating at full capacity. They emphasized the need to expedite the second phase, with a capacity of 20,000 m³/day, to bring it online promptly while ensuring compliance with environmental standards and the quality of treated water.
Additionally, they visited the Water Pumping Station in Neighborhood 24, highlighting the importance of regular maintenance, cleaning, and preventive measures. Operational challenges and future plans to enhance service quality were also discussed.
The tour concluded at the integrated sewage plant in the 290-acre area, which operates at a capacity of 1,000 m³/day. Officials directed the swift completion of the remaining works.
In a related effort, Eng. Ali Saad led a separate inspection of the ongoing upgrades at the entrances to Dar Misr and the social housing area in the city’s northern section. The improvements include road expansions, pavement upgrades, enhanced lighting, and landscaping to beautify the entrances and accommodate increasing traffic flow.
The Head of the City Authority stated that these initiatives aim to enhance traffic efficiency and facilitate access to the city, keeping pace with population growth and rising demands. These efforts are part of a comprehensive plan to transform 15th of May City into a model for new urban developments.
He stressed the importance of adhering to project timelines, ensuring high-quality execution, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes. During the inspection, he also listened to feedback from residents and contractors, reiterating the commitment to improving infrastructure and services.
