Engineer Alaa Abdel-Lah Mostafa, Chairman of the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority and Supervisor of the Hadayek 10th of Ramadan Development Authority, welcomed Engineer Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities for the Utilities Sector, during an inspection visit aimed at reviewing the progress of utility and infrastructure projects across the city. The visit forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to oversee infrastructure development in Egypt’s new urban communities.
The inspection was conducted in accordance with the directives of Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, who has emphasized the need for continuous project monitoring and faster implementation rates to ensure the delivery of modern infrastructure that supports both urban and industrial growth.
Joining the Deputy Minister during the visit were Engineer Mostafa Kamel, Assistant to the Deputy Minister of Housing for the Utilities Sector, and Engineer Haitham Hammady, Assistant to the Vice Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Utilities, Network Monitoring, and Maintenance.

The visit commenced with a comprehensive meeting at the headquarters of the city authority, where officials reviewed the current status of the utility network in 10th of Ramadan City. A detailed presentation highlighted ongoing projects related to drinking water, wastewater, electricity, and road infrastructure.
It also covered utility works in industrial zones, areas undergoing infrastructure expansion, projects serving low- and middle-income housing developments, and plans for the city’s future growth.

Water Treatment Facility Producing 600,000 Cubic Meters Daily Serves Several Major Cities
Following the meeting, Engineer Ahmed Omran toured a number of strategic projects across the city. Among them was the drinking water treatment plant, which operates with a total production capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per day through its first and second phases. Recognized as one of the region’s largest water treatment facilities, the plant supplies potable water to 10th of Ramadan City, Badr City, Hadayek Al Asimah (Capital Gardens), and the New Administrative Capital.
Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant Supports Continued Industrial Growth
The Deputy Minister also inspected construction activities at the new industrial wastewater treatment plant, a major project designed to support the city’s industrial expansion. The facility has a civil works design capacity of 130,000 cubic meters per day and an electromechanical capacity of 65,000 cubic meters per day, helping accommodate future industrial investments and increasing demand for utility services.
The inspection included a review of progress on several treatment system enhancement projects, such as the construction of a new screening building, installation of two 1,400-mm force mains, construction of two anaerobic basins, and reinforcement works for the embankments surrounding Oxidation Pond No. 3. Development and deepening works are also underway at the third anaerobic pond, all of which are intended to improve treatment efficiency and optimize operational performance.
Engineer Ahmed Omran emphasized the importance of adhering to approved project schedules and ensuring that all works are completed according to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. He also highlighted the need to maintain accelerated implementation rates across utility projects to support the city’s comprehensive development strategy and accommodate its rapidly expanding urban and industrial sectors.
These infrastructure initiatives reflect the Ministry of Housing’s continued commitment to enhancing utility services and strengthening infrastructure across Egypt’s new cities. Such projects play an important role in attracting investment, creating integrated urban environments, and supporting the country’s sustainable development objectives and long-term vision for urban and industrial expansion.
