In line with directives from Engineer Sherif El-Sharbeni, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, to safeguard state resources and vital facilities, campaigns were launched to combat illegal water connections and collect outstanding debts in the cities of Nubaria and New Salhia.
Engineer Ashraf El-Samaligi, Head of the Nubaria New City Development Authority, stated that a specialized committee inspected water meters and uncovered five unauthorized water connections serving residential plots, along with a commercial mall equipped with two unregistered meters in the second and premium residential districts.
The committee took immediate action by disconnecting the illegal connections, confiscating the unregistered meters, and initiating legal measures against the violators. These steps are intended to protect water resources and strictly enforce the law.
Simultaneously, the city’s agricultural management launched an extensive campaign to enhance the green spaces in social housing areas. The initiative focused on improving the city’s aesthetic appeal and providing residents with a healthier environment. Activities included pruning, cleaning, and expanding greenery, alongside landscaping at the city’s entrance to create an inviting and modern appearance.
In New Salhia, Engineer Khaled Shaheen, Head of the New Salhia City Development Authority, oversaw the efforts of a dedicated inspection committee tasked with identifying and eliminating unauthorized water connections.
Shaheen emphasized the importance of the committee’s work in maintaining the efficiency of the public water network and preventing the wastage of water resources. He reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to strict enforcement against violators and urged citizens to comply with regulations to avoid legal repercussions.
These campaigns aim to ensure the sustainability of water resources while enhancing the quality of services and maintaining a high standard of living for residents in both cities.
