In implementation of the directives of Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Dr. Eng. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for New Urban Communities, participated in the general session titled “Initiatives Targeting Egyptians Abroad” as part of the seventh edition of the Conference of Egyptians Abroad, in the presence of a number of senior officials and representatives of Egyptian communities abroad.
At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Eng. Walid Abbas conveyed the greetings of Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, to Egyptians abroad, stressing that the ministry places at the top of its priorities implementing the political leadership’s directives to strengthen the ties of Egyptians abroad with their homeland and provide them with more housing and investment opportunities in new cities, as they are key partners in the development process taking place under the New Republic.
The Deputy Minister noted that the Ministry of Housing places significant emphasis on developing programs dedicated to Egyptians abroad, particularly the “Beit Al Watan” and “Beitak Fi Masr” programs, considering them successful models of cooperation among state institutions and among the most important bridges of communication with Egyptians living abroad.
He explained that the “Beit Al Watan” program, which was launched in 2012, has achieved significant success throughout its previous phases, with the total number of land plots allocated to Egyptians abroad exceeding 43,500 plots across 25 new cities through the 10th supplementary phase.
He stressed that the ministry has worked to develop the offering mechanisms in the 11th phase to ensure the highest levels of transparency, fairness, and equal opportunities among all applicants. During the session, the deputy minister of housing for new urban communities announced that, in implementation of the directives of Eng.
Randa El-Menshawy, and in response to the strong demand witnessed for the 11th offering of the “Beit Al Watan” program, it has been decided to expand the current phase, bringing the total number of land plots offered to around 15,500, instead of the previously announced 4,543 plots. The move aims to increase opportunities for Egyptians abroad to acquire land in new cities and accommodate the growing demand for the program.
Dr. Walid Abbas also announced that the ministry is currently preparing to launch the third phase of the “Beitak Fi Masr” program, which is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad.
He explained that the new phase will include a variety of residential and administrative units within a number of distinguished urban development projects designated for Egyptians abroad, thereby expanding the options available to them for ownership and investment.
He added that through the two programs, the ministry aims to continue providing diverse real estate products that meet the needs of Egyptians abroad, while further developing the booking and allocation system and advancing digital transformation, contributing to the simplification of procedures and improving the efficiency of services provided.
Following his speech, the deputy minister of housing listened to Egyptians abroad participating in the session, who raised a number of complaints, inquiries, and proposals concerning the “Beit Al Watan” and “Beitak Fi Masr” programs, as well as several proposals for developing the mechanisms for offering, booking, and allocation.
He stressed that all comments and proposals raised by Egyptians abroad are receiving significant attention from Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, minister of housing, who has directed that the issues raised be promptly examined and that any obstacles be removed and all challenges facing Egyptians abroad be addressed.
This, he noted, will contribute to developing the programs and services provided to them. He also pointed to the ministry’s continued efforts to develop initiatives targeting Egyptians abroad, expand real estate offerings, and continuously listen to their views and proposals.
