Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced that wastewater services have been or are being delivered to 24 rural areas in the Isna and Armant centers as part of the first phase of the presidential initiative “Hayah Karima” aimed at developing the Egyptian countryside. This announcement was made during a meeting with Engineer Abdel Muttalib Mamdouh, Governor of Luxor, at the Housing Ministry headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
El-Sherbiny emphasized that the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation is overseeing these projects, including the construction of wastewater treatment plants in Hala and Deir in Isna, and in Armant. He also noted the completion of nine drinking water projects in Luxor since 2014, costing EGP 753 million, along with 17 wastewater projects worth more than EGP 1.4 billion. Currently, five additional water and wastewater projects are being implemented in the governorate.
