Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, stressed the importance of accelerating the implementation of infrastructure, utilities, and housing projects, improving service efficiency, and strengthening industrial development initiatives, alongside continuing campaigns to remove violations and encroachments to preserve the urban character of new cities.
The remarks came during the Minister’s review of the implementation status of several development and service projects, as well as work files in 10th of Ramadan City and Hadayek 10th of Ramadan City.
Advancing Projects and Adhering to Implementation Timelines
The Minister emphasized the need to achieve integration among development projects in new cities, particularly infrastructure, utilities, and service projects. She also called for accelerating work on ongoing projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and compressing implementation schedules to maximize the benefits of the investments allocated to these projects.
First Electricity Distribution Station Commissioned in 10th of Ramadan Industrial Zone
In this context, the Minister received a report on the implementation status of several ongoing projects in 10th of Ramadan City. Engineer Alaa Abdel Lah Mostafa, Head of the City Development Authority, announced the operation of the first electricity distribution station in the southwest industrial zone, which spans 2,200 feddans.
The station is part of a plan to establish 18 electricity distribution stations serving the industrial zone, providing integrated power supply for approximately 500 factories and enhancing the area’s readiness to attract additional industrial investments.
Upgrading Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant and Road Network
The Minister also reviewed the progress of the rehabilitation and efficiency upgrade of the city’s industrial wastewater treatment plant, which is nearing completion. The project will support industrial expansion and improve the treatment system in accordance with the highest environmental standards.
In addition, the report covered ongoing upgrades to the city’s road network and major corridors in both residential and industrial areas, including asphalt paving works in several neighborhoods and the continued development of roads within industrial zones.
Upgrading the Technology Center and Market Inspection Campaigns
In the services sector, the report addressed the development of the city’s Technology Center to facilitate citizen services and improve customer satisfaction indicators. It also reviewed the outcomes of joint inspection campaigns on markets, which resulted in the detection of several violations and the implementation of the necessary legal measures to safeguard public health.
Campaigns to Remove Violations and Utility Encroachments
The report also highlighted the results of field campaigns targeting violations related to unauthorized changes in land use, encroachments on public utilities, and illegal water network connections, in addition to citywide cleaning, beautification, and waste removal campaigns across various neighborhoods.
Monitoring the Green Housing Project in Hadayek 10th of Ramadan
In Hadayek 10th of Ramadan City, the Minister reviewed the results of a field tour conducted by Engineer Ahmed Abdel Razek, Head of the City Development Authority, along with city officials, at the Green Housing Project under the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative.
The inspection covered finishing works, building facades, landscaping, internal roads, and service facilities, with emphasis on completing the project promptly while maintaining the highest quality standards to deliver an integrated and sustainable urban community.
Accelerating Work on the Drinking Water Pumping Station
The Minister also reviewed the implementation progress of the drinking water pumping station project in Hadayek 10th of Ramadan City. She directed officials to intensify construction activities, increase implementation rates, and prepare detailed execution schedules to complete the project, given its importance in improving water pressure and enhancing the efficiency of the city’s drinking water supply system.
Energizing an Electricity Distribution Station Serving Four New Neighborhoods
As part of the follow-up on utilities projects, the Minister reviewed the implementation of electricity distribution stations in the city’s new neighborhoods, including the energization of Distribution Station (11S), which serves the Al Rabie, Lotus, Al Zaytoun, and Al Rayhan neighborhoods. The project supports stable electricity supply and keeps pace with ongoing urban expansion.
The report also included the results of cleaning and waste removal campaigns, tree planting initiatives, and the expansion of green spaces, as well as intensive campaigns to remove street obstructions and encroachments across several neighborhoods. These efforts aim to restore order in streets and public squares, improve traffic flow, and take the necessary legal action against violators.
