Cairo, Egypt – Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting to assess the implementation status of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” and other housing projects like “Sakan Misr” and “Janna” across various new cities and governorates. The meeting included ministry officials, representatives from the New Urban Communities Authority, and city authorities.
The minister reviewed detailed progress reports on initiative projects in areas such as Arab Al-Alaykat in El-Khanka, Borg El-Arab, New Assiut, Kafr El-Sheikh, and 6th of October City, alongside housing units in West Qena.
El-Sherbiny emphasized accelerating unit handovers, ensuring all facilities and services are in place, and intensifying resources to meet deadlines. He instructed authorities to reassign delayed projects to reliable contractors and highlighted President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to prioritize timely completion of citizen-impacting projects.
Mai Abdel-Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, shared updates on the initiative’s current phase. Over 670,000 brochures of terms have been sold, with 350,000 down payments submitted and 200,000 applications registered online. She noted the availability of ready-to-move units in several governorates.
El-Sherbiny stressed maintaining quality standards and ensuring swift delivery, particularly for previously announced units. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing adequate housing as a national priority and instructed strict adherence to project schedules to meet citizens’ needs.
