Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, discussed with Hany El-Iskandarany, Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, the implementation status of projects being carried out by the agency nationwide.
They also reviewed the agency’s investment plan for fiscal year 2026/2027, in line with the state’s directives to accelerate the implementation of national and development projects and maximize the use of government investments.
At the beginning of the meeting, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy pointed out that the Central Agency for Reconstruction is one of the Ministry of Housing’s most important executive arms, given its extensive technical and implementation expertise, capabilities, and broad presence across the country’s governorates.
She noted that the ministry relies on the agency to implement numerous major national and development projects that directly affect citizens’ lives, contribute to improving the level of services, and support comprehensive development efforts.
The Minister of Housing said that regular meetings will be held to continuously monitor the implementation rates of projects undertaken by the agency and work to overcome any obstacles that may arise during implementation, ensuring adherence to specified timelines and completion of projects in accordance with the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Eng. Randa El-Menshawy stressed the importance of the role played by the Central Agency for Reconstruction in implementing national and development projects across various governorates, emphasizing the need to intensify field monitoring and accelerate implementation rates. This would contribute to achieving the state’s targets for comprehensive urban development, improving the level of services provided to citizens, and enhancing quality of life.
During the meeting, Hany El-Iskandarany reviewed the implementation status of the agency’s investment plan for fiscal year 2026/2027, which includes 100 projects, as well as the status of projects under the first phase of the presidential “Hayah Karima” (Decent Life) initiative, totaling 3,630 projects, in addition to preparations to implement 446 projects under the initiative’s second phase.
The meeting also addressed the implementation status of the Great Transfiguration project on the Land of Peace in Saint Catherine, one of the major national projects aimed at maximizing the area’s tourism, religious, and environmental potential, enhancing its position on the global tourism map.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation of development cluster projects in the Sinai Peninsula, which aim to support comprehensive development efforts, provide integrated urban communities, achieve stability, and create sustainable employment opportunities for the people of Sinai.
The meeting further discussed the implementation status of several national projects being carried out by the Central Agency for Reconstruction across various governorates, particularly projects for constructing roads and major axes, as well as upgrading and developing road networks to connect urban and service communities and areas between cities, villages, and development zones.
These projects support the movement of citizens and goods, improve infrastructure efficiency, and contribute to creating a suitable environment for investment and development. The follow-up also covered the implementation status of the Fustat Hills Gardens, the construction of a number of hospitals across several governorates, and the efforts of the agency’s executive bodies in various regions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the minister of housing stressed the need to continue regular and field monitoring of all projects; accelerate implementation rates; maintain continuous coordination among all relevant authorities; promptly address any challenges or obstacles; and maximize the benefits of investments allocated to these projects, in line with the state’s objectives of achieving integrated urban, economic, and social development across the country.
