Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has issued directives to all heads of new city authorities to raise the state of maximum readiness in response to the expected wave of severe weather. This move comes based on warnings from the Meteorological Authority concerning the anticipated atmospheric instability.

According to reports from the authority, several regions and governorates across the country are expected to experience significant wind activity carrying sand and dust, as well as rainfall ranging from moderate to heavy. These conditions require early preparation and readiness to deal with any developments on the ground.

The Minister emphasized the importance of taking all necessary precautionary measures and preventive actions to mitigate the potential negative impacts of the weather. He also stressed the need to activate emergency plans and enhance the efficiency of maintenance teams and water suction systems in vital and low-lying areas.

Minister El-Sherbiny called for a thorough review of rainwater drainage networks to ensure their readiness to absorb the expected water volumes without disrupting traffic flow. He underlined the importance of coordination between the authorities of new cities, governorates, and utility companies to ensure a swift response to any emergency. Continuous weather monitoring and responsiveness to citizen complaints were also emphasized.

The Minister urged citizens to exercise caution and adhere to guidelines during the anticipated weather event, reaffirming that public safety and the protection of infrastructure remain top priorities for the state.
