Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities, met with Chinese ambassador to Cairo Liao Liqiang to discuss areas of joint cooperation between Egypt and China in housing and urban development and to follow up on the progress of projects being implemented by Chinese companies in Egypt in the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein City as part of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy welcomed the Chinese Ambassador to Cairo, affirming the depth of Egyptian-Chinese relations and their continued development across various fields under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and President Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.
She noted that relations between the two countries are based on solid foundations of cooperation and strategic partnership, stressing Egypt’s keenness to continue strengthening this partnership, particularly in housing and urban development, and to benefit from Chinese expertise and capabilities in implementing major projects in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries and their peoples.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador to Cairo affirmed that Egyptian-Chinese relations represent an outstanding model of partnership and cooperation between the two countries, pointing to their continued development across various fields.
He stressed his country’s keenness to continue supporting and strengthening these relations and expanding prospects for joint cooperation, particularly in urban development, in a manner that contributes to achieving sustainable development and supports the shared interests of both countries.
The meeting addressed the status of projects being implemented by CSCEC in the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein City. The two sides reviewed implementation rates and targeted timelines, while emphasizing the importance of continued coordination among all relevant parties and adherence to the specified schedules to ensure the swift completion of projects in accordance with the highest quality standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy stressed the importance of maintaining communication and coordination between the Egyptian and Chinese sides and continuing efforts to advance frameworks for joint cooperation.
This would contribute to supporting the implementation of joint projects and maximizing the benefit from the expertise and capabilities available to both sides. She praised the level of existing cooperation with Chinese companies and expressed her aspiration for further cooperation and partnership during the coming period.
