Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has issued nine demolition orders to remove building violations and encroachments within the boundaries of West Port Said City. The Minister affirmed the ongoing efforts to eliminate violations, preserve the architectural identity of new cities, and combat encroachments on state-owned lands.
In this regard, the decisions include the removal of unauthorized construction on plots of land of various sizes. These structures were built without obtaining the necessary permits and lacked any legal basis such as ownership contracts or building licenses. The West Port Said City Development Authority has been tasked with implementing the demolition orders in cooperation with the Construction Police and the relevant local police department.
