Housing Minister Inspects Progress of “Housing for All Egyptians” Initiative in New Obour City
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection tour to review the progress of the “Housing for All Egyptians” presidential initiative in New Obour City. He also evaluated the infrastructure work on newly added lands and other utility projects in the city. The Minister was accompanied by Engineer Amin Ghoneim, Vice Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Development and City Development, Dr. Ahmed Ismail, Head of the New Obour City Authority, along with officials from the authority and members of the Minister’s technical office.
Construction of Over 88,000 Units in New Obour City
During his tour, Minister El-Sherbiny visited the construction sites of the “Housing for All Egyptians” units, where more than 88,000 units are currently being built in New Obour City. He inspected completed units and assessed the connection of residential buildings to utility networks, as well as the progress on service facilities. The Minister emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified timelines, completing fully developed areas, and delivering the units to their rightful owners as soon as possible.
Inspection of Water Reservoir and Power Station
The Minister also inspected a water reservoir with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters, which has been completed to supply water to the residential units under the initiative and other housing projects. Additionally, he reviewed the progress of the New Obour City electrical substation and inspected the main road axes currently under construction. He directed the installation of signage and removal of debris from roadsides, as well as the maintenance of cleanliness throughout the city.
Progress on Road and Utility Works
Minister El-Sherbiny examined the progress of road grading and utility works on the newly added lands in New Obour City. He also reviewed the status of land regularization files and the timelines for handing over plots to citizens. The Minister urged for the swift completion of these tasks to ensure the timely delivery of lands to their owners and to maximize the value of the authority’s assets in these areas.
