Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities, announced the start of procedures for handing over land plots allocated to citizens in the added lands in the areas formerly known as Al-Amal and Al-Talae’a in New Obour City. The handovers will be carried out for citizens whose status has been regularized and who were allocated land plots through public lotteries, according to the designated groups and scheduled dates.
The Housing Minister confirmed that land handovers will begin on Sunday, August 16, 2026, as part of the ministry’s efforts to expedite the procedures for handing over land to citizens and facilitate their receipt of the plots allocated to them, ensuring that the procedures are completed in accordance with the approved rules and regulations.
She explained that the new cities’ authorities continue to implement their programs for handing over land plots and housing units to citizens, alongside ongoing development and service projects. This supports the state’s approach toward achieving integrated urban development and providing more housing and investment opportunities in new cities.
Details of Handover of Former Al-Amal Association Lands
For his part, Eng. Mahmoud Mourad, Head of the New Obour City Development Authority, explained that the authority will begin handing over land plots in Block No. (3) in District (33), within the land category measuring 209 square meters, to former members of the Al-Amal Association who were allocated housing in the city according to the results of the public lottery.
He noted that the handover of lands in Block No. (3), District (33), will begin on August 16, 2026, and continue according to the specified timetable, which has been organized based on block and plot numbers.
The designated handover phase includes blocks from 33301 to 33312, with each citizen required to attend on the date assigned to them according to the timetable announced by the city authority.
Handover Date for Former Al-Talae’a Association Lands
The Head of the New Obour City Development Authority added that the handover of land plots in Block No. (2), District (27), to former members of the Al-Talae’a Association will take place in phases, with the first phase beginning on September 20, 2026.
The first phase includes blocks from 27201 to 27221, according to the plot numbers and dates specified in the timetable announced by the New Obour City Development Authority.
The authority also set additional dates for citizens who failed to collect their allocated land plots during the previously scheduled dates, in order to ensure that they have the opportunity to complete the handover procedures in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Documents Required to Receive the Land
The New Obour City Development Authority urged citizens scheduled to receive their land plots to attend on the dates specified in the announced timetable and to bring the required documents to complete the handover procedures.
The required documents include the original sale contract, the original receipt for payment of the down payment, the original and a copy of a valid national ID card, ownership chain documents, and the allocation declaration. Citizens must also complete the remaining procedures and submit any additional documents requested by the city authority according to each case.
The authority stressed the importance of adhering to the specified attendance dates and promptly completing the procedures, which will contribute to finalizing the handover of land plots to eligible citizens according to the approved timetable.
