Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the implementation status of several sewage projects under the presidential initiative to develop Egyptian rural villages, “Decent Life,” in the governorates of Minya, Beni Suef, Damietta, and Sohag. The projects are being implemented through the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage, based on periodic reports and the results of inspection tours of the projects.

In Beni Suef Governorate, Engineer Randa El-Menshawy followed up with Major General Engineer Amin Shawky Adel, Chairman of the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage, on the latest developments in implementing sewage projects under the presidential “Decent Life” initiative in the governorate.

These included the Dandil Treatment Plant, with a capacity of 40/80,000 m³/day; the Ashmant Village Sewage Lift Station; the Ashmant Village gravity sewer networks, extending 23 km; the Tansa Bani Malou Treatment Plant, with a capacity of 40/20,000 m³/day; the Beni Ahmed Lift Station; a proposal to modify the route of the final treated effluent line for the Taha El-Bisha Treatment Plant, with a capacity of 25/50,000 m³/day; and the Abu Saleh Treatment Plant, with a capacity of 3,000 m³/day.

The Housing Minister also followed up on the latest developments in implementing sewage projects under the initiative in Damietta Governorate. These included the Kafr El-Ghab Sewage Treatment Plant project, with a capacity of 5/10,000 m³/day; the Om El-Rizq Sewage Treatment Plant project, with a capacity of 5,000 m³/day; and the Kafr Suleiman El-Bahary Treatment Plant project, with a capacity of 10/5,000 m³/day.

Engineer Randa El-Menshawy also reviewed the implementation status of sewage projects under the initiative in Sohag Governorate. These included the sewage project in Awlad Ismail in Al-Maragha Center, which includes a lift station and a force main, and the sewage project in Al-Galaweya in Saqultah Center, which includes the main lift station, the main force main, and the gravity sewer networks.

In Minya Governorate, the follow-up included the sewage lift station in Sheikh Masoud Village in Al-Adwa Center; the sewage lift station in Al-Baslaqun Village; the sewage lift station in Atf Haider Village; and the sewage lift station in Al-Masied Village in Al-Adwa Center.

It also included the main sewage lift station project in Al-Rairamoun Village, the expansion of the Abu Qurqas Sewage Treatment Plant with a capacity of 20,000 m³/day to serve 12 villages, for which coordination was completed to connect the electrical power supply, and the main sewage lift station in Mansafis Village in Abu Qurqas Center.

At the conclusion of the follow-up, Engineer Randa El-Menshawy stressed the importance of adhering to technical standards and quickly addressing obstacles. This would help accelerate project implementation, improve the level of services provided to citizens, and support sustainable development plans in the governorates.

It is worth noting that the tours were also attended by Engineer Essam Abdel Hamid, Head of the Central Administration for the Implementation of Projects in the Eastern Delta; Engineer Youssef Helmy, Head of the Central Administration for the Implementation of Upper Egypt Projects; and Engineer Nageh Abdel Rahman, Deputy Head of the Central Administration for the Implementation of North Upper Egypt Projects (Minya–Assiut).

The tours were also attended by officials from the executive agencies, projects, and implementing companies in the governorates.
