This comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to accelerate implementation rates, complete utility and infrastructure works, improve the level of services provided to citizens, and enhance the quality of life in new cities.
In this context, Engineer Randa El-Menshawy followed up on the latest developments in the housing units under the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians – Low-Income Housing” initiative, Sixth Phase, in the North of the First District area in New Fayoum City.
The project includes 24 buildings with a total of 576 housing units, distributed across three work sites. Work is being intensified to complete the concrete structures of the buildings, alongside implementation of the project’s scheduled timeline.
Engineer Ali Saad, Head of the New Fayoum City Development Authority, explained that the construction of some buildings has been completed, while interior and exterior finishing works are underway in preparation for making the units available to citizens and delivering them according to the approved delivery plan. Periodic follow-up of implementation rates is also continuing, along with compliance with the required quality standards and technical and engineering specifications.

Regarding utilities and services, the Housing Minister followed up on the implementation and handover status of landline telecommunications networks in the social housing areas of the city. All telecommunications cabinets have been completed, and the entire project has been handed over, allowing citizens to apply for landline telephone and internet services.
Engineer Ali Saad added that all reported faults have been repaired. Four out of eight telecommunications cabinets in the Second District have been handed over, while the remaining cabinets are scheduled to be handed over during October. All telecommunications cabinets in the First District had already been fully handed over, contributing to the faster availability of services to citizens.
Regarding the road network, the Housing Minister followed up on the start of the second phase of the new road linking New Fayoum City with the main Fayoum City. Excavation, repair, and road alignment preparation works have begun in preparation for completing the implementation phases according to the specified schedule.
The implementation of the new road comes as part of efforts to develop and improve the efficiency of the road network and infrastructure in New Fayoum City. The project will help facilitate citizens’ movement, improve traffic flow, strengthen connections between different areas of the city and surrounding areas, and improve the level of services provided to residents.
As part of efforts to improve services and the city’s appearance, the New Fayoum City Development Authority continues cleaning, waste removal, and beautification works across various areas and districts. This is being carried out through ongoing campaigns to remove waste and maintain green areas, helping preserve the city’s appearance and improve the level of services provided to residents.
Agricultural, landscaping, and green-area improvement works have also begun in the Second District as part of a plan to expand green spaces and improve the visual appearance of districts and roads. The works include planting, landscaping, beautification, and improving green areas, contributing to a better quality of life and creating a better urban environment for citizens.
Engineer Randa El-Menshawy emphasized the importance of continuing field follow-up of various projects, accelerating implementation rates, and adhering to scheduled timelines and technical specifications. She also stressed the need to quickly complete the works and make services available to citizens, supporting urban development plans in New Fayoum City.
