Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the progress of road and main-axis development and efficiency improvement works and the reinforcement of drinking water networks, as well as intensified field and inspection campaigns to address encroachments, violations, and random activities in Tenth of Ramadan City.
Eng. Randa El-Menshawy emphasized the need for new cities’ authorities to continue intensifying field inspections of various projects, as well as operation and maintenance works, and to respond promptly to any observations or complaints.
She stressed prioritizing the improvement of utility networks and roads, maintaining cleanliness and the city’s civilized appearance, and addressing encroachments and random activities in a way that contributes to improving the level of services provided to citizens and enhancing the quality of life in new cities.
In this context, Eng. Alaa Abdel-Lah Mustafa, Head of the Tenth of Ramadan City Development Authority, explained in a report on the status of several projects in the city that, as part of the plan to develop and improve the road network, the authority has continued paving and developing a number of roads and main axes in the industrial areas and southwestern parts of the city.
This contributes to improving road quality, enhancing traffic flow, and facilitating the movement of citizens and vehicles, particularly in areas with high traffic density and industrial activities.
The Head of the Authority noted that the works included laying the binder asphalt layer for Project “B” in the industrial area southwest of the city and beginning efficiency improvement works on Axis “A6,” in addition to continuing the implementation of the binder asphalt layer for Project “C” and starting asphalt works to complete Street “A8” in the right-hand direction in Area “C.”
The works also included constructing pedestrian walkways along Misr El Nour Axis on the island in front of the new transportation terminal, carrying out asphalt maintenance works on the road connecting El Zahid Gas Station and Misr El Nour Roundabout, as well as completing asphalt repair works on the New Traffic – Andalus Road.
In the drinking water sector, the Tenth of Ramadan City Development Authority completed the implementation and operation of a 6-inch-diameter reinforcement line for the water network in the Abu El-Wafa Apartment Buildings area—Site 62, west of the Tenth District.
The project aims to address low water pressure on upper floors and improve the regularity of drinking water supply to residential units in the area. This comes as part of the authority’s commitment to promptly responding to residents’ demands and needs, improving the level of drinking water services, and ensuring stable network pressure in line with the area’s actual needs.
In the cleanliness and beautification sector, the city authority carried out intensive cleaning works in the eastern, western, and central areas of the city as part of an integrated plan to improve public cleanliness and enhance the visual appearance across various neighborhoods, residential areas, roads, and main and secondary axes.
The works included cleaning roads and axes and removing and transporting construction waste from main and secondary roads and within residential areas, as well as disinfecting and sanitizing garbage bins and waste collection points. These efforts contribute to reducing waste accumulation and preserving the city’s civilized appearance.
As part of efforts to preserve the city’s civilized appearance and maintain order in public areas, the Tenth of Ramadan City Development Authority carried out an extensive field campaign to address encroachments and violations along a number of major axes and vital locations in the city, in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
The campaign targeted the Jordanian Road, the area in front of the Sixth Residential Area, and the entrance to Industrial Area “C1.” Encroachments and violations were removed, and the targeted sites were cleared, contributing to the preservation of public spaces and green areas, improving the overall appearance, and restoring order to the city’s main axes and entrances to vital areas.
