Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the implementation progress of projects in Capital Gardens City as part of the ministry’s efforts to accelerate work on ongoing residential, service, and investment projects in new cities, ensure compliance with specified schedules, and swiftly complete projects and put them into service.
This is aimed at keeping pace with residents’ needs and contributing to the development of integrated urban communities with the necessary amenities and high-quality services. Eng. Randa El-Menshawy stressed that Capital Gardens City is receiving continuous attention and follow-up from the ministry, given its status as one of the new cities experiencing rapid rates of urban and population growth.
She emphasized the need to continue work on residential, service, and development projects in parallel with completing utility, road, and site-development works, ensuring that the city’s components are ready to accommodate population growth and provide residents with an integrated urban environment.
The minister stressed the importance of achieving the highest possible completion rates in ongoing projects while adhering to established quality standards and technical specifications.
She also called for swiftly addressing any challenges or obstacles that could affect implementation rates, emphasizing that follow-up is not limited to completion rates but also extends to ensuring that projects are ready, operational, and achieving their intended objectives, directly improving the level of services provided to citizens.
During the follow-up, the implementation and allocation status of units under the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative in Capital Gardens City was reviewed. The total number of units stands at approximately 120,000, of which around 98,000 units have been completed and allocated, while approximately 22,000 housing units are currently under construction.
Eng. Randa El-Menshawy directed that the remaining works be completed according to the specified schedules, with utility works and general site development completed promptly to ensure that the units are ready and handed over to their beneficiaries on schedule.
The Housing Minister also followed up on the implementation status of the “Zelal” project, which comprises 37 buildings with a total of 962 housing units. Work is currently underway on 25 buildings containing 650 units, while the implementation of 12 buildings containing 312 units is being prepared for tender. The project is scheduled to be completed according to the approved timetable.
She also followed up on the implementation of the “Dyarna” residential project, which comprises 37 buildings with a total of 962 housing units, directing that implementation rates be accelerated, the project’s schedule be continuously monitored, and all its components be completed according to the highest quality standards.
The Housing Minister received a report covering the city’s service projects. The city has a total of 10 schools, in addition to approval for the establishment of an Al-Azhar institute serving all educational stages in Service Center No. (12) in the 2,350-feddan area. Another plot of land has also been planned for the establishment of an additional Al-Azhar institute. The status of nurseries was also reviewed, with the city having a total of 16 nurseries.
In the healthcare services sector, the Housing Minister followed up on the implementation and operation of several targeted healthcare service projects in the city, including three health units and eight medical centers. She also reviewed sports services, which total 12 facilities, including two youth centers and 10 five-a-side football fields.
As part of efforts to provide job opportunities and encourage economic activities, the report stated that two buildings containing 34 small craft workshops had been completed and put into operation. Thirty of these workshops have been allocated for various activities, including mobile phone maintenance, soap production, clothing tailoring and manufacturing, shoemaking, electrical appliance maintenance, and other activities.
The report also stated that a total of 78 commercial shops had been allocated in the city, including 42 shops in five markets offering various activities, 33 shops located beneath residential buildings, and three bakeries. The city’s post office has also been opened and put into operation.
The Housing Minister also followed up on the implementation status of the regional transportation station in the city, which is intended to facilitate residents’ movement to and from different governorates. The station covers an area of approximately 12,000 square meters and includes various services, with the necessary procedures for its full operation currently being completed.
As part of efforts to provide security services, an integrated police complex is being constructed to serve city residents in Service Center No. (13) in Al-Amal District, next to the new city authority building, in addition to a number of other security services.
The report also addressed the status of investment projects in the city, which are part of an integrated urban development plan covering a total area of approximately 6,800 feddans. Regarding the “Beit Al-Watan” project, the total number of plots stands at 503, with 288 plots currently being handed over, while 215 plots have been offered.
The status of the “Boulevard” project was also reviewed. The project covers approximately 532 feddans and includes 170 land plots designated for various and mixed-use activities. In the same context, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy followed up on the results of field tours conducted by officials from the New Urban Communities Authority and the Capital Gardens City Authority at a number of ongoing projects in the city.
Eng. Ahmed Ali, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for Utilities, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on several utility projects in the presence of Eng. Ahmed El-Araby, Head of the Capital Gardens City Development Authority.
The tour included an inspection of the sewage treatment plant south of the 2,350-feddan area and the 1,200-mm-diameter discharge line and its related facilities to assess implementation rates and completion percentages.
The sewage treatment plant south of the 2,350-feddan area is considered one of the vital projects within the city’s wastewater system. It will contribute to improving the efficiency of the wastewater system in the southern part of the city, reducing pressure on infrastructure, and supporting the city’s residential projects, particularly social housing units.
In the same context, Eng. Ammar Mandour, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for Development and Construction, accompanied by the Head of the Capital Gardens City Development Authority, conducted an extensive inspection tour to monitor work progress in the field and assess implementation rates and the quality of work at several development and service projects across the city’s housing and service sectors.
The tour included an inspection of the ongoing construction works at the “Zelal” luxury housing project. The tour covered various sections of the project to review its implementation status, ensure that work was progressing according to the specified schedule, and assess completion rates across its different components.
The tour also included an inspection of Phase Six of the low-income housing units under the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative. The phase is being developed over an area of 650 feddans in Al-Mostakbal District and comprises 834 residential buildings with a total of approximately 20,016 housing units, each measuring 90 square meters, including utility connections and general site-development works.
The Vice President of the Authority continued the tour by inspecting general site-development works at the locations where projects under the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative are being implemented, as well as the completion of Phase Five under the 14th announcement, as part of the plan to hand over fully finished and serviced units to their reservation holders.
At the conclusion of the follow-up, the Housing Minister stressed the need to continue field monitoring of all ongoing projects in Capital Gardens City, maintain full coordination among the various concerned authorities, and swiftly remove any obstacles hindering implementation. This will contribute to completing the components and foundations of an integrated urban community and achieving the highest possible quality of life for the city’s residents.
