Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the implementation status of a number of development and service projects and work files in the cities of 10th of Ramadan and Hadayek 10th of Ramadan, as part of the state’s efforts to maximize the utilization of new cities and improve infrastructure and industrial areas.
The minister of housing stressed the importance of continued field follow-up of various projects, promptly addressing obstacles and complaints, and enhancing coordination between city authorities and relevant entities to ensure the best possible use of investments directed toward new cities.
New Investment Opportunities
The report submitted to the minister included updates on work files in the two cities. Eng. Ahmed Ibrahim, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for the Planning and Projects Sector, held a meeting at the headquarters of the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority in the presence of Eng. Alaa Abdel-Lah Mostafa, Head of the City Authority, and a number of officials from NUCA and the City Authority.
The meeting discussed mechanisms for maximizing the utilization of a number of areas proposed for development in the city by studying planning and investment alternatives, supporting NUCA’s resources, and achieving the optimal use of land in accordance with the city’s strategic master plan.
Investment Hospital
In the healthcare sector, the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority completed procedures for the final handover of the site designated for the investment hospital on the western services axis in the fourth phase, paving the way for the start of the project’s implementation in partnership with the private sector.
The hospital is planned to be built on an area of approximately 4,000 square meters, with the aim of strengthening the city’s healthcare system and providing advanced medical services that meet the rates of urban and population growth.
Violation Removal Campaigns
The minister of housing also followed up on the efforts of the 10th of Ramadan City Authority to address encroachments and illegal occupations and preserve the designated uses of land and housing units.
The authority carried out extensive campaigns in several neighborhoods and main corridors, successfully preventing two attempts to change the designated use of residential plots in violation of regulations in the Ninth and Twelfth Neighborhoods, “Al Zumorod,” after attempts were made to convert them to commercial activities. Work was halted, equipment was seized, and legal procedures were taken.
A violation involving a change of use was also detected west of the Tenth Neighborhood, where the area had been converted to commercial activity and shops had been opened in violation of regulations. The violation was addressed in accordance with legal procedures.
Market and Service Organization
As part of efforts to regulate commercial activities, the Ministry followed up on the operation of the new urban market in the 16th Neighborhood, “Al Lotus,” and the relocation of street vendors to the market.
The market contains 100 stalls, 85 of which have been allocated so far, providing suitable and equipped spaces for vendors away from roads and sidewalks. Authorities are continuing to monitor the areas that have been cleared to prevent the return of illegal occupations.
The city authority also addressed the problem of service-taxi congestion at the intersections of the 14th Neighborhood, “Al Rowad,” where the gatherings were removed and drivers were warned against using the location as an unauthorized parking area.
Road and Industrial Development
The 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority continued implementing a plan to improve the efficiency of major roads and corridors, including maintenance and paving works, the installation of speed bumps and road markings, and the placement of directional signs in several neighborhoods and areas.
Development works also extended to the industrial areas through paving, curb installation, and completion of asphalt works in Area C southwest of the city, A3, A2, and Area B southwest of the city, with the aim of supporting industrial activity and improving infrastructure efficiency.
Development of Hadayek 10th of Ramadan
In Hadayek 10th of Ramadan City, the executive authorities followed up on utility projects. The Samcrete water-lifting station was inspected to monitor implementation rates, with an emphasis on accelerating the completion of works to support the drinking water system and improve water pressure in various areas.
The follow-up also included the operation of parts of the electricity networks at the distributors serving Al Zaytoun Neighborhood (28) and Al Rabee Neighborhood (26), in addition to operating one of the electricity loops in the Green Housing Project—Fifth Phase, as part of the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative.
Cleaning and waste removal works continued, along with the removal of illegal makeshift rooms, while landscaping and beautification works were carried out along major corridors. Authorities also monitored the regular operation of service taxis to ensure compliance with designated routes and the provision of safe transportation services to city residents.
